En Esencia is a project of research, synthesis, reduction, distillation.
Raised as a paradox in which two similar processes converge in the opposite direction; the reduction of the Artist and deposit of the Essence in the fabric. The fabric is the repository of my Being and it is in it that my Essence takes refuge and remains.
The culmination of the project is the intervention of a canvas of just over 2x2m in a live painting session. An additive process in a single direction; four colors Black, Red, Ocher as a metaphor for four states; Structure, Passion, Skin and Soul.
To get to this live session I have made a preparation of 30 canvases and papers in different sizes, in increasing order, from 10x10 to 2x2, in sessions from 1min to 25 minutes.
Each intervention in a color configures a finished work that does not need more support, so there are 4 works in one.
The work is very intuitive, visceral, passionate, with all the senses awake. In the process there is no possibility of going back, repeating color, correcting... and it is essential that at the end of the process the four original colors and all their mixtures are present, a metaphor for the levels of complexity and significance of life itself
The first color, Black, symbolizes the structure, it is the seat, the base of life, which will allow me to grow and expand. or that the anchor will allow me
The second color, Red, represents passion, heat, excess, depth and generosity.
The third color, ocher, symbolizes the skin, it is the contact with the human, with the soft, with the tender, with the defective, with what surrounds me.
The last color, white, symbolizes the soul, it is the most subtle part but still attached to an earthly body, it is the breath, the spirit, the light, the lightness and the incorporeal.
The mixtures between each level lead to more complex situations and proposals, namely, structure with soul, skin with passion, structure with skin...
