My escape and I

Performance made up of two simultaneous actions, music and installation and body painting - experimental gestural painting.

With Nando Argüelles Art Projects in the framework of the exhibition Viajes (various), routes and Universes at Casa El Coleta 1959. Algeciras. Spain.

Two drifts, two lives, two paths, two routes that converge and move away. An action full of metaphors and symbols, clashes and counterpoints; white - black, rigid - soft, heavy - light.
Each artist investigates and reflects on their own drift conditioned by the space marked by the other; the physical space available (the location of the nails) and the continuous sound space (the screeching loop of the violin).
Past, present and future. All the possibilities, the encounters, the frustrations, the desperation and freedom as a final solution. Liberation and abandonment of forms, liberation and abandonment of ties.

Revision of the symbol represented as the arcanum of The High Priestess; it represents knowledge in evolution, the possibility of getting what we want if we can get through the door and face our fears.

I did not reach the REM phase is an experimental joint project with the artist María de Grandy Ruzafa; poet and violinist.

From a phrase taken from his book of poems, Clay, we have built a progressive space  to explore violin improvisation and gestural abstract painting.

Structured in 3 times of 30 minutes each with the words of Mary as a link, the music, in some cases very strident, has been captured in 3 large-format canvases

Sexual dimorphism, a question of identity

Under the theme Natural Sciences, Nando Argüelles launches his new idea.

I have always been interested in establishing an identity through the concept of sexual dimorphism. Males and females respond to a biological program that determines their roles and their interactions.

In this work I look for morphological analogies between different species that can suggest other types of identities and combinations, I play with the physical elements and with the feelings that can be associated, creating snapshots.

This series is a complex project in a state of constant growth, an open and mutable series, thus conceived, where there is enough space for error, change, search, encounter and experiment.


Each creative process is a search and a marriage between the artist and his environment. A statement of status and a bill of rights; vision, obsession, needs, delusions, losses, risks. An adventure.

Where the Artist ends and the work begins, where the work ends and the public begins, where public and artist merge, which transcends the line between internal and external.

That line is a no man's land; porous and permeable or solid and walled, osmotic or rigid...
Under the heading Release, a door constantly swings open in two directions, a door that speaks of limits and transcending.

The series is understood as a continuum where an intimate and subjective ideology becomes entangled and untangled creating a network of meanings;
The identity, the environment, the social, the setting, the emotion, the philosophy... a complex worldview articulated through symbols as archetypes or arcana; The Mountain (The Clan), The Girl (The Game), Sex (The Passion), The Flower (The Joy), The House (The North), The Night (The Path), The Sun (The Soul), The Food (The Essence), Forgiveness (Peace), Sleep (Death)

It is a living and mutable series, where the relationships between the archetypes are infinite. An open series where, like a sailboat, I sail and jump from island to island, without worrying about getting to the port concentrating on the road.
